Jonathan Smalley
Non-custodial parents are not the only ones who decide to not follow
court orders and take matters into their own hands. A 4 year old
boy taken form home by his noncustodial grandmother is the center
of this week’s case.
Jonathan Smalley is 3 foot tall and weighs 40 lbs. He has blonde
hair and blue eyes. Jonathan walks with a limp. His grandmother
may say his last name is Dupre or Garretson.
If you see Jonathan, please call the National Center for Missing
and Exploited Children at 1-800-the-lost, that’s 1-800-843-5678.
We often tell you that non-custodial parents can be charged with
interference with parental custody if they abduct a child. This
also is true for grandparents. Many adults feel they have valid
reasons for taking a child, but removing a child from his home state
is never in the best interest of the child.
