Nat. Amber Alert
Awareness Day

This week communities across the country will observe National Amber Alert Awareness Day, a time to recognize the collaborative efforts and successes of the Amber Alert program that assists in the recovery of abducted children. The Amber Alert, created after the 1996 abduction and brutal murder of 9 year old Amber Hagerman, is a voluntary partnership between law enforcement, broadcasters and transportation agencies. A description of the child and suspected abductor is broadcasted to million of media listeners and viewers.

You can learn more about how you can sign up for the free service by going to wirelessamberalerts.org or log on to thekansascitychannel.com.

Law Enforcement knows that the first three hours after abduction are the most critical. By signing up for the Wireless Amber Alerts you can play an integral role in the recovery of an abducted child. You become the eyes and ears for law enforcement.
