Colton Mitchell O’Neal

Officers in this case have been working to get a warrant since December of 2006.

5 year old Colton Mitchell O’Neal has been away from his mother since right before Christmas of last year. Colton is 3 foot 6 inches tall weighs 60 lbs with red hair and blue eyes. He was abducted by his 35 year old non-custodial father; Daniel Leon O’Neal who is 6 foot 1 inch tall weighs 210 lbs. with brown hair and blue eyes. A felony warrant for unlawful flight to Avoid Prosecution was recently issued.

You’re probably wondering why cases can go so long with a warrant being issued. If custody has not been established or it has been challenged, then many times both parents have a right to have the child until Law Enforcement and the Courts decide who will retain custody. During that time, the parent holding the child will leave the state and be on the run, probably thinking they will loose their case. . Once a decision is made, the courts can file a warrant.
