Theme Park Safety

Heading to a theme park this summer? They are a great place for family fun. Take time to plan your trip and talk to your kids about how to stay safe before you arrive at the park. Make a plan to meet in a specific location should anyone become separated: a good place is the Help or Information Center. Tell kids to check with you before accepting prizes or gifts from anyone. Teach them to runaway and yell” this person is not my mother or father” if someone tries to take them away. And please, make sure your kids never wear clothing or carry items that display their names. It attracts people who are out to harm your children. Once you get to the park, show your kids where to meet you, maybe even showing them on the map. Have them carry some form of identification and emergency contact information in a secure spot. Hopefully some of these ideas and a few minutes of advanced preparation can make your outing more enjoyable and safer for your whole family.
